With a <strong>VIP Preview and Vernissage on 18 January<\/strong>, the fair will run from <strong>19 \u2013 21 January 2024<\/strong> featuring curated gallery presentations, ambitious large-scale installations, insightful conversations, a thought-provoking film sector, and expansive city-wide activations in close collaboration with <strong>Singapore Art Week<\/strong>, the city\u2019s annual celebration of the visual arts.<\/p><p>After a highly successful launch in January 2023, ART SG\u2019s upcoming edition will present an exceptional line-up of over 110 galleries from 33 countries and territories, representing the best in contemporary art practice.<\/p><p><strong>Shuyin Yang, Fair Director, ART SG, <\/strong>said: \u201cWe are delighted to welcome the international art world back to Singapore once again with the second edition of ART SG. Highlights include:<\/p><p><strong>White Cube <\/strong>(London, Hong Kong, New York, Seoul, Paris, West Palm Beach) will present a thoughtfully curated showcase featuring artists including <strong>Tracey Emin<\/strong>, <strong>Isamu Noguchi<\/strong>, <strong>Marguerite Humeau<\/strong>, <strong>Theaster Gates<\/strong>, <strong>Ibrahim Mahama<\/strong>, <strong>Christian Marclay<\/strong> and <strong>Danh Vo<\/strong>, among others.<\/p><p><strong>Lehmann Maupin<\/strong> (London, New York, Seoul) will feature a group presentation foregrounded by <strong>Nari Ward<\/strong>, <strong>Dominic Chambers<\/strong> and <strong>Lee Bul<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>neugerriemschneider <\/strong>(Berlin) will present paintings, sculptures and textile works by <strong>Ai Weiwei<\/strong>, <strong>Thomas Bayrle<\/strong>, <strong>Billy Childish<\/strong>, <strong>Olafur Eliasson<\/strong>, <strong>Andreas Eriksson<\/strong>, <strong>Noa Eshkol<\/strong>, <strong>Thilo Heinzmann<\/strong>, <strong>Antje Majewski<\/strong>, <strong>Tobias Rehberger<\/strong>, <strong>Toma\u0301s Saraceno<\/strong> and <strong>Pae White<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>Waddington Custot<\/strong> (London) will feature an exceptional group presentation including <strong>Bernar Venet<\/strong>, <strong>Michael Craig-Martin<\/strong>, <strong>Chu Teh-Chun<\/strong>, <strong>Robert Indiana<\/strong>, <strong>Hans Hartung<\/strong>, <strong>Barry Flanagan<\/strong>, <strong>Ian Davenport<\/strong> and <strong>Fernando Botero<\/strong>, of which a significant highlight is a monumental and iconic sculpture by <strong>Jean Dubuffet<\/strong>, <em>Tour aux r\u00e9cits<\/em> (<em>Tower of Stories<\/em>) from the artist\u2019s celebrated \u201cHourloupe\u201d cycle.<\/p><p><strong>TARO NASU<\/strong> (Tokyo) will present a conceptually driven showcase featuring artists such as <strong>Simon Fujiwara<\/strong>, <strong>Ryan Gander<\/strong>, <strong>Ryoji Ikeda<\/strong>, <strong>Koichi Enomoto<\/strong> and <strong>Mika Tajima<\/strong>, looking at representations of their practices beyond acknowledged canons.<\/p><p><strong>Asia Art Center<\/strong> (Taipei, Beijing) will feature two contemporary Taiwanese sculptors from different generations, <strong>Ju Ming<\/strong> and <strong>Li Chen<\/strong>, tracing the development context of contemporary sculpture in Taiwan, and breaking down conventional notions of space and form.<\/p><p><strong>Kaikai Kiki Gallery<\/strong> (Tokyo) will present a curation of contemporary and emerging Japanese names including <strong>AYA TAKANO, Mr., ob, Akitoshi Akamatsu, TENGAone, MADSAKI, FUTURA, DABSMYLA, VERDY, Hisashi Eguchi, Hideyasu Moto, Shoko Nakazawa, Chinatsu Ban<\/strong> and <strong>Hideki Maekawa.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>ShanghART<\/strong> (Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore) will showcase seminal Singaporean artist <strong>Tang Da Wu<\/strong>, who will be presenting a statement work of a sampan boat comprising wooden offcuts sourced from previous historical projects; alongside other gallery artists including <strong>Robert Zhao<\/strong>, Singapore\u2019s representative at the Venice Biennale 2024.<\/p><p><strong>MadeIn Gallery<\/strong> (Shanghai) will present a rich solo survey by <strong>XU ZHEN\u00ae<\/strong>, which encompasses the artist\u2019s multi-disciplinary practice during the past decade through seven of his signature series.<\/p><p><strong>Gazelli Art House<\/strong> (London, Baku) will present a two-artist showcase which reflects on <strong>Harold Cohen<\/strong> and <strong>Jake Elwes<\/strong>\u2019 respective contributions to generative and computer-based art, charting technological creativity as well as contextualising the implementation of AI today, and its potential to address pressing social issues.<\/p><p><strong>Sullivan+Strumpf <\/strong>(Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore) will focus on expressions of materiality through new works by artists including <strong>Alex Seton<\/strong>, <strong>Dawn Ng<\/strong>, <strong>Irfan Hendrian<\/strong>, <strong>Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran<\/strong> and <strong>Sam Jinks<\/strong> among others.<\/p><p><strong>Yavuz Gallery<\/strong> (Sydney, Singapore) will feature a presentation of new and critical works by leading artists from Southeast Asia and Australasia, including <strong>Abdul Abdullah<\/strong>, <strong>Alvin Ong<\/strong>, <strong>Pinaree Sanpitak<\/strong> and <strong>Manit Sriwanichpoom<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>Johyun Gallery<\/strong> (Busan, Seoul) will showcase a collection of recent works by Korean artists, including <strong>Lee Bae<\/strong>, <strong>Park Seo-Bo<\/strong>, <strong>Jung Kwang Ho<\/strong>, <strong>Kang Kang Hoon<\/strong>, <strong>Lee Kwang Ho<\/strong> and <strong>Jin Meyerson<\/strong>, offering a unique reinterpretation of traditional materials and techniques in contemporary art.<\/p><h2><strong>SOUTHEAST ASIAN GALLERIES<\/strong><\/h2><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-50499 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/artsg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Ruben-Pang_Lifehunter.jpg\" alt=\"Ruben Pang, Lifehunter\" width=\"787\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artsg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Ruben-Pang_Lifehunter.jpg 787w, https:\/\/artsg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Ruben-Pang_Lifehunter-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/artsg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Ruben-Pang_Lifehunter-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/artsg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Ruben-Pang_Lifehunter-750x500.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 787px) 100vw, 787px\" \/>Ruben Pang, <em>Lifehunter<\/em>, 2023, oil, alkyd and dammar varnish on aluminum composite panel, 180 x 120 cm. Courtesy Richard Koh Fine Art<\/p><h3>ART SG 2024 will also present a strong line-up of Southeast Asian galleries making a dynamic debut at the fair, as well as some of the most significant galleries from across the region, featuring both established and emerging Southeast Asian artists. Highlights include:<\/h3><h3><strong>Richard Koh Fine Art <\/strong>(Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok) will feature the evolving tapestry and rich visual language that characterises Southeast Asia&#8217;s contemporary art scene including <strong>Htein Lin<\/strong>, <strong>Justin Lim<\/strong>, <strong>Ruben Pang<\/strong> and <strong>Yim Maline<\/strong>.<\/h3><h3><strong>Gajah Gallery <\/strong>(Singapore, Jakarta, Yogyakarta) will spotlight renowned artists with strong histories of practice, including innovative sculptures produced in collaboration with the Yogya Art Lab (YAL), such as <strong>Suzann Victor<\/strong>, <strong>Yunizar<\/strong> and <strong>Uji \u201cHahan\u201d Handoko Eko Saputro<\/strong>.<\/h3><h3><strong>FOST Gallery<\/strong> (Singapore) will create a significant showcase reflecting recent contemporary art practice in Singapore and Southeast Asia, including <strong>Donna Ong<\/strong>, <strong>Eng Tow<\/strong>, <strong>Ian Woo<\/strong>, <strong>Wyn-Lyn Tan<\/strong>, as well as <strong>Elaine Roberto-Navas<\/strong> and <strong>Luis Antonio Santos<\/strong>.<\/h3><h3><strong>BANGKOK CITYCITY <\/strong>(Bangkok), making its debut at ART SG 2024, will feature a new installation by <strong>Tanatchai Bandasak<\/strong>, large-scale paintings by street artist <strong>Alex Face<\/strong> inspired by significant political movements in Thailand, and works by renowned Thai artist <strong>Korakrit Arunanondchai<\/strong> featuring his classic motifs of denim, fire and mythical imagery. Hovering between states of \u201cbeing\u201d, the installation\u2019s \u201cghost\u201d architecture recalls homes that were demolished in the face of China\u2019s rapid urbanisation. Having witnessed the 1997 British to China handover of the then colonised Hong Kong, Cheung\u2019s dual identity as British-Chinese prompts him to think about the definition of home, where and what it is, and the narratives of conquest.<\/p><p><em>Immortal Words<\/em>,\u00a0a bio-art project by Singapore-based artist <strong>Boedi Widjaja<\/strong> presenting collectible DNA-spiked objects through capsule vending machines, is a continuation of his decade-long research into body, memory, language and encoding. The project is supported by the National Arts Council and developed in consultation with geneticist Associate Professor Eric Yap of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine<\/p><p>Translated as \u201cHornbill Circus\u201d from Sarawak Malay, the ongoing project\u00a0<em>Kenyalang Circus\u00a0<\/em>by Sarawakian textile artist <strong>Marcos Kueh<\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>interrogates the possibility of authenticity within a culture of icons, taking a satirical eye to the commercialisation of Borneo and Sarawak as \u201cMalaysia\u2019s exotic unknown\u201d. Marcos Kueh will present new large-scale textile works as part of the\u00a0<em>Kenyalang Circus<\/em> series, integrating visual motifs commonly associated with Southeast Asia \u2013 especially Borneo and Sarawak \u2013 within the format of large woven banners, creating a subtle commentary on cultural expectations and appropriation.<\/p><p><strong>Donna Ong<\/strong> will present works from the \u201cEvery World\u201d series, creating fantastical worlds through her unique artistic practice of arranging miniature hand-cut paper shapes of tropical flora and fauna housed inside a glass vitrine. This mode of display evokes the idea of a terrarium, a miniature landscape, however while a terrarium contains real plant specimens, their placement and environment are entirely deliberate and controlled, bridging reality and the magical.<\/p><p>British abstract painter <strong>Ian Davenport<\/strong> will present <em>Lake<\/em>, a large-scale painting-installation that used 120 litres of paint in its creation, and an ambitious evolution of his \u201cpuddle\u201d paintings.
